TECHNICAL INFORMATION
COLOURING SYSTEM
Colorglaze is a two-part polyurethane based paint that is applied
by compressor and then dry cured.
LOW IRON AND CLEAR FLOAT GLASS
Colorglaze can be applied to both low iron and clear float glass.
Clear float glass has an iron content that gives the glass a
green tint. Low iron glass, as the name suggests, does not, therefore
offering a better clarity of colour.
SIZES
Maximum panel size 1500 x 3000mm (negotiable on special projects)
THICKNESSES
Glass thicknesses available, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 19mm (in both low
iron and clear float glass).
HOLE SIZE AND LOCATION
Holes in toughened glass should be a minimum of 35mm from the edge,
and 45mm in from each corner. The hole diameter must be at least
the thickness of the glass or greater.
CUT OUTS
Cut outs in glass should be no larger than 1/3 of the total area
of the glass. It is recommended to speak to the sales team with
regards all cut outs. The internal corners of cut outs and notches
must have a radius. This radius will be dependent on the thickness
of the glass.

SHAPED GLASS
All shaped glass is CNC cut so there is flexibility in the panel
shapes we can offer. It is advisable to discuss shaped glass
with the sales team before ordering. Full size mdf or ply templates
or CAD drawings will be required.
EDGE DETAILING
Standard edge detailing is PAR (polished all round), however, you
can specify a mitred edge, a bull nose, etc.
TOUGHENING
All glass can be toughened to BS6286, if the application requires.
We can also laminate coloured glass, however, the glass will
still only look good from one side.
SITE CONDITIONS
The surface onto which the glass is going to be applied needs to
be flat and free from any protrusions.
HEAT
Glass should not come into direct contact with heat or hot items.
It is advisable that a timber or steel buffer be placed between
glass and surface mounted hob.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Colorglaze should be cleaned in the same way as other glass products,
using non-abrasive cleaning materials. You should not attempt
to clean the painted side of the glass.
